Welcome to the St. Petersburg Downtown Arts Association website. The DAA is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit organization of  galleries, museums, and arts-related businesses in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. Our mission is to teach, promote, and advance the Arts in downtown St. Petersburg.

          To further our mission, the DAA sponsors a monthly event called the Second Saturday Gallery Walk. Participating Galleries open their doors for extended hours on the second Saturday evening of every month. Oftentimes, there is a special theme to the Walk or galleries may have a special opening of new work featuring the artists on-site to meet and greet the public and answer questions about their work.                   Artwork in the galleries represents a wide array of fine art and craft including everything from antique and collectible artwork to contemporary fine craft;  from traditional portraiture to very non-traditional multimedia 'Happenings'. All media are covered from blown glass to photography, fine enamels to jewelry, clay to paper, stained glass to giclee printmaking, from oil painting to water media, from video and cutting edge contemporary installations to simple, but elegant figure drawings. The artists represented at our member locations span the spectrum of international legends of the past and present to local artists just beginning to make their way in the art world. It is possible to commission original one-of-a-kind artwork just for you through one of the galleries.           A brochure is available complete with a map at all member galleries and at many other locations throughout the Tampa Bay area. Most galleries have daily hours as well as special hours for Gallery Walks; some have short hours or are by appointment only. Check the listings on this site or the brochure for more information.
